Scottish Building and the National House-Building Council (NHBC) have launched a health and safety initiative to give advice to housebuilders in Scotland.
NHBC health and safety manager Simon Mantle said: "There are 700 Scottish Building members, ranging from housebuilders who produce 20 units a year to those who handle over 2,000.
"This partnership is designed to cater for all these builders' requirements, providing a wealth and safety information, products and services to help improve the understanding and application across the board."
In the year to 31 March 2005, there were 13 fatalities in the Scottish construction industry.
