Seven consortia are at the top of the class for Leicester City’s £236m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme to transform the city’s secondary schools.
The seven bidders are:
Proposals from all seven will be evaluated in September with a shortlist of three chosen by the end of the year. A preferred bidder will be announced early in 2006.
Work starts in autumn 2006 at four city schools: Beaumont Leys School; Fullhurst Community College; Judgemeadow Com-munity College; and Soar Valley College, which represent phase one of the programme.
The remaining 11 schools will be delivered in a further three phases over the following six years.
