Cat and Land Rover link up for remanufacturing deal

Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services (Cat Reman) will act as Land Rover’s preferred global remanufacturing provider following the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

Under the agreement Cat Reman will supply Land Rover with key elements such as remanufactured product development and product supply.

Land Rover previously worked with a number of remanufacturing sources, among them Wealdstone Engineering, which was acquired by Cat Reman in 2004.

Steve Fisher, Cat Reman president, said: “This opportunity demonstrates our automotive customers’ confidence in our abilities. Remanufacturing benefits the environment because fewer components are scrapped and sent to landfill."

Cat Reman had previously been handling Land Rover’s core management at its European Remanufacturing Centre in Shrewsbury, Salop.
