Tolent on course for £150m turnover

Tolent’s turnover in 2005 looks to be on course for the budgeted figure of £150m, which would represent a rise of 25% over last year’s figure of £120m.

Latest interim figures (six months to 30 June) show turnover at £76m (£65m) and pre-tax profit inching higher to £2m (£1.9m).

Tolent chairman John Wood said: “Turnover has been in line with forecast during the first six months of 2005. It’s steady progress here. We never like to be flash."

The general contracting group operates out of five offices: Tyneside, Teesside, Leeds, Manchester and London.

“They are all finding it hard to get new staff,” said Wood. “We recruit a mix of young kids, graduates and people with experience.”
