Hewden moves to bio lubricants

Hewden is the latest plant hire company to convert some of its excavators to biodegradable hydraulic oil. The company will use Shell's biodegradable oil in excavators destined for use on Environment Agency contracts.
The hirer said there has been a noticeable increase in the number of clients requesting machines filled with bio-oil.
It predicts that all hire companies will be encouraged to use biodegradable oils as the industry becomes increasingly environmentally conscious.
