Jackson wins £6m football stadium project in Dartford

Jackson Construction has been appointed to build a £6m 5,000-capacity football stadium for Dartford Football Club in Kent.

The Southern League Division One East club is currently ground sharing with Gravesend & Northfleet FC at Stonebridge Road, but plans have now been approved for the new stadium to be constructed at the Princes Park site.

The national conference standard stadium will feature a high specification main stand with seated capacity of just under 1,000 fans.

The reinforced concrete frame stand will incorporate changing rooms, function suites, a club lounge and a directors' suite.

Covered terraces to the remaining sides of the pitch will accommodate around 4,000 fans. Jackson will install irrigation and drainage services for the new floodlit pitch and lay a sustainable sedum roof on the main stand. Externally a large car park will be created, as well as a full size floodlit all weather pitch.

The development, which forms part of a major regeneration drive within the borough, is due to start on site in September, with completion scheduled for July 2006.
