The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) will launch in Belfast next month when the city council's building control starts a partnership with the scheme.
Contractors, architects and other construction professionals have been invited to the launch event on 22 September, at which the operation and benefits of the CCS will be introduced.
Belfast Building Control already enjoys partnerships with bodies such as the Law Society and the Valuation and Lands Agency and believes that this assists the proper development of Belfast.
Head of Belfast Building Control Trevor Martin said: “Our intention in all such partnerships is not just efficiency and effectiveness, but to make a difference to the city, its commercial heart and its peoples lives.”
Over the last 12 months, the CCS has registered over 20% of the value of all building sites in the UK and continues to register some 400 new sites every month.
The objective of the Scheme is to improve the image of construction, and to achieve this, registered sites are monitored and advised on how they can improve their levels of consideration towards the public, the environment and site staff.
CCS chairman David Hardy said: “We are very excited about increasing the take up of the Scheme in Northern Ireland and are very grateful to Belfast Building Control for its tremendous support and commitment.”
