North Midland Construction (NMC) enjoyed further organic growth as turnover increased 46% to £68.5m in the six months to 30 June. Pre-tax profit was up 15% to £1.8m.
Chairman Robert Moyle said the North Midland Building subsidiary "returned to its former level of profitability and will achieve an enhanced result for the full year".
The Nomenca M&E business fell behind the year-ago result as the water market went into a trough as AMP3 came to an end; the commencement of AMP4 should see the full year result being comparable to 2004.
NMC's orderbook stands at £120m.
