GE Equipment pays £18m for 500 machines

GE Equipment Services Plant Hire has placed its largest ever single order with JCB for more than 500 items of machinery.

Worth in excess of £18m the deal consists of backhoe loaders, telehandlers, mini excavators, rough terrain forklifts and excavators.

Ralph Atkinson, asset director of GE Equipment said: “Growth in our core business has meant a greater demand on the current fleet. This deal enhances and maintains our emphasis on a young fleet profile.”

JCB’s recently launched new range of mini excavators form a large part of the deal.

During their development process the prototype machines were previewed and evaluated by a number of GE Plant Hire’s senior team.
