Six-figure packages await both the chair and chief executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority, according to adverts published in the national press this week.
The two successful applicants of “unparalleled calibre” will lead a world class, inspired team to ensure the “greatest event in sport” is delivered on time and to budget.
The chair will be a part-time position (two days a week). The winning candidate must have proved they have been “central to delivering bold visions on the largest scale, using highly developed political and communication skills to align support, commanding commitment and respect at all levels”.
The successful chief executive must have “a contestable track record of achievement in the
procurement and delivery of complex, highly renowned, multi-billion-pound projects”.
Other non-executive board appointments will be advertised later this month.
Last month, the London Development Agency admitted that the appointment of a head
of procurement on the London Organising Committee for the London 2012 Olympic Games would not be made until at least the start of next year.
It said this would allow the incoming chief executive to become firmly established in the new role (CJ 17 August).
