A construction supply specialist has launched an on-line building supplies business, UK Hardware Direct.

The new ‘virtual builders merchant’ is the creation of Geoff Grierson and Jamie Govier – the founders of the Accrington-based building supplies specialist, UK Hardware Distribution.

While their original business will maintain its focus on ‘face to face’ sales and delivery of light-side products, UK Hardware Direct will provide a facility for clients who prefer the convenience of 24-hour on-line ordering.

The company’s new website – www.ukhd.co.uk – includes a facility to browse products by trade.

Consequently, visitors can either search for products under standard headings such as ‘fixings’ and ‘power tools’, or they can choose from an array of products aimed specifically at joiners, plasterers, plumbers, electricians and other building professionals.

The company offers ‘next day’ delivery throughout the UK on all stocked products and also provides a free product-finding service for customers who are looking for a specific item that they may be struggling to find elsewhere.
