Daf to roll out XF105 flagship

Daf is to launch its new flagship tractive unit - the XF105. Featuring Paccar's new 12.9 litre MX engine, it can be specified for either Euro 4 or Euro 5 compliance.

Initially, the six-cylinder engine will be available in 300kW, 340kW and 375kW versions with a 410kW version to follow.

The fuel lines are integral to the engine block, and a composite valve cover incorporates the sump venting. A Jacobs decompression brake doubles the available engine braking between 1,000 rpm and 1,500 rpm.

The XF105 features an exterior design evolved from the XF95, while the brand new interior sees the AS-Tronic transmission
controls mounted on the steering column.
