Five trade associations have become the first organisations to be accepted into the government’s TrustMark initiative, which replaced the anti-cowboy builder scheme Quality Mark earlier this year.
The approval means the organisations concerned will now be able to vet their member contractors to become registered users of TrustMark.
TrustMark is now in the process of reviewing a further seven applications by trade bodies looking to get involved in the scheme. These include the Federation of Master Builders and the National Federation of Roofing Contractors.
The associations now approved by the scheme are:
Ian Livsey, chairman of TrustMark, said: “All these applications have shown the determination to be leaders in their particular sectors. They have embraced both the spirit and standards of TrustMark.”
