Weaver targets women

Weaver will host a discussion forum, entitled Encouraging Women into Construction, on Friday 7 October to coincide with National Construction Week.

Weaver joint managing director Peter Lightfoot said: "Weaver has always been keen to play its part in encouraging people to join the industry. However, what has been noticeably lacking in all areas of recruitment is the number of female candidates coming forward. For the last three technical posts, Weaver only received one female applicant. We believe that this is because construction does not appear on their radar of potential career options."
