ProCure 21 call for Olympics
Specialist contractors are calling for London's Olympic contracts to be delivered using a framework agreement similar to the ProCure 21 initiative.
Rudi Klein, chief executive of the Specialist Engineering Contractors Group, is to meet with government ministers to lobby for a ProCure 21-style of partnering framework to be used to deliver Olympic contracts.
Klein is arranging meetings with culture secretary Tessa Jowell, construction minister Alun Michael, Sebastian Coe, chair of the London 2012 organising committee, and Treasury financial secretary John Healey.
Klein said: "It is absolutely vital that we don't waste time reinventing procurement models for the Olympics when we already have excellent models such as ProCure 21. I will also be talking to ministers about the importance of project insurance and having a project bank account."
