Totty wins £4.1m college expansion

Totty Construction has secured a £4.1m education project with Bradford Metropolitan District Council to extend Challenge College.

The scheme to enhance facilities at the secondary school, which was originally constructed in 2002, will see Totty build two new, three-storey extensions - one to the front and one to the rear of the existing structure.

Once completed, the college will boast enhanced accessibility and facilities for disabled students and staff, a new assembly hall, additional changing facilities, a new Post-16 study area, as well as three new ICT classrooms, a new music suite, new art rooms, additional rooms in science and humanities and administrative offices.

A key element of the extension will see the City Learning Centre within the college move to a new and extended facility at the front of the building.

The project, which starts at the end of October, is expected to take 60 weeks.
