The Robertson Group has been chosen by Angus Council as its preferred bidder for a £50m PFI deal to improve schools in Carnoustie and Forfar.
The Robertson Education consortium saw off rival bids from Alpha Schools, headed by Morrison, and Nyop Education, which was led by London-based project manager PFI Solutions.
The project will create three two-stream primary schools in Forfar, with two two-stream and a single primary school in Carnoustie, as well as the construction of the new Carnoustie High secondary school.
Financial close is expected by April 2006. The first phase of projects should be ready for occupation from August 2007 and the second phase of projects, including the new Carnoustie High School, are due for completion in August 2008.
