Remote air compressor
Drillcorp has introduced Air-Cat, a self-propelled, track-mounted
air compressor designed to overcome access problems on confined
sites or where ground conditions make delivery difficult.
The radio remote-controlled unit has an Ingersoll-Rand compressor
mounted on 300mm-wide crawler tracks. The 5t machine has a ground
bearing pressure of 27kPa (under 4psi). Ground clearance is 488mm
with a maximum travel speed of 3.7km/h and the machine can tackle
gradients of up to 22o.
Power for the track hydraulics comes from the compressor's engine.
Once in position, the compressor has a free air delivery of
11.3m3/min and a working pressure of 14bar.
The Air-Cat is available for hire or sale.
