RCS awarded year's extension on Area 3 worth £90m

RCS, part of the Balfour Beatty group, has been awarded a £90m year’s extension to its highways maintenance contract for Area 3 in central southern England by the Highways Agency.

 
The contractor has been working on the contract since 1997 with Mott MacDonald and the extension takes the contract to August 2008, when it will be retendered.

 
Work involves the maintenance and improvement of 600km of motorway, 600km of trunk roads and 956 structures across Hampshire, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
