New Speedy cement aimed at flooring

Flooring specialist DCP has launched an ultra-fast drying cement additive that can produce surfaces that can be walked on within three hours at room temperature.

The company designed Cemscreed Rapid as a replacement for Ordinary Portland Cement.

DCP described the product as a “shrinkage compensated cement”, for floors that need to be finished quickly.

Cemscreed Rapid is aimed at standard floor screeds. DCP said it eliminates the need for damp-proof membranes as it is suitable for textile, wood or ceramic coverings within 24 hours.

The company said it is aiming the product at applications ranging from warehouse and retail to general commercial and offices.
