Merlo hits the road with improved telehandlers

Four new Merlo telehandlers are now available in the UK: the P37.12; P38.12; P38.13; and P38.14. These range from 11.5m/3.7t to 13.6m/3.8t and are fitted with a new cab, as well as a new lightweight boom assembly and extension mechanism that boosts lift height and capacity.

The cabs have a reduced frame thickness and a larger glazed area to improve visibility. There is a lighter interior, a new seat and improved ventilation (with an uprated air con option). The new boom design encloses all the hoses and there is a choice of boom or axle suspension.

Standard specification is a 64kW Perkins four-cylinder engine and all are available in ‘Plus’ versions with a turbocharged 75kW engine and 40km/h hydrostatic transmission (the ‘inching’ pedal remains standard). Load-sensing hydraulics are standard as is chassis sideshift (±345 mm on the 13.6m machine) and all but the lightest machine have compact stabilisers.
