Morrison Facilities fined £32,000

Morrison Facilities Services was ordered to pay £32,000 plus £6,107 costs last week after Warwick Crown Court found it guilty of breaching asbestos regulations.

The company, which formerly traded as AWG Facilities Services, broke the rules when it exceeded its asbestos licence for coatings and asbestos insulation board.

The court heard that it showered neighbouring properties with asbestos when it failed to clean up a roof it was working on in Solihull, forcing the Health & Safety Executive to carry out the prosecution.
