Five share £60m housing scheme

Five firms are to share out £60m-worth of housing work under a four-year strategic framework deal for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust.

The line-up is: Castleford-based Strategic Team Group, Doncaster outfit Strata, York firm Woodhouse-Barry, Cardiff-based Castleoak and Gleeson.

Work on site, in what is predominantly a new-build deal, is likely to start within the next few months.

The precise number of new homes, to be built mainly in Yorkshire, is not yet decided. However, the final count could approach the 1,000 mark.
