Alfred McAlpine has secured over £100m-worth of electricity contracts.
McAlpine has been awarded a contract extension by Central Network for four years, with provision for a further five-year extension. The contract is valued in excess of £20m per year.
Work covers the design, project management and delivery of cable, overhead lines and sub-station networks.
McAlpine has also been awarded a contract with Scottish & Southern Energy for the construction of low voltage overhead line works valued at £10.5m over five years.
McAlpine chief executive Ian Grice said: "As anticipated, market conditions across the utilities sector are showing signs of improvement. Following the reshaping of our business, we are well positioned to take advantage of the anticipated increases in workflow as the regulatory spend is released."
