UGS wins £1m drainage supply contract

Builders’ merchant UGS has won a supply contract for drainage materials it claims could top £1m.

UGS won the contract from GCA, a joint venture between Galliford Try, Costain and Atkins.

The contract is to supply drainage materials for the £900m United Utilities project for water and waste water in the North West.

UGS will supply precast concrete pipework and chamber rings from its North West depot at Lowton, Cheshire.
