Vinci/St Modwen win Project MoDEL

A Vinci/St Modwen Properties consortium has been named preferred bidder for Defence Estates' Project MoDEL.

The scheme involves an initial £150m-plus investment in the re-development of RAF Northolt to create the MoD's first integrated core site in London providing service personnel with new living, working and messing accommodation plus sports, social, health and welfare facilities.

Vinci/St Modwen will fund and project manage the delivery of construction work, the relocation of units and the disposal of sites rendered surplus through the consolidation.

The consortium beat two other shortlisted bidders: Land Securities Trillium and Amec.

Contract award is scheduled for July.
