Genset has applied the technology that was used in the manufacture of its super-silenced generators to develop a new, quieter, engine-powered water pump.
These machines are exempt from the 2001 noise regulations governing a whole range of equipment for use outdoors.
However, impending changes to be brought about by next month’s Noise at Work legislation will affect the use of all construction machinery.
The response from Genset has been to develop, in conjunction with one of its hire customers, the Liquidator range, which contains two models with sound levels of 59dB(A) at 7m.
The 150mm fully canopied, super-silenced version with fast tow option is ready now, while the 100mm version will be available soon.
