Two outfits start work next month on an £80m housing deal in Lancashire.
Preston-based Community Gateway Association, which took over the council’s stock late last year, has gone for Bramall Construction and FDG Projects (local firm HT Forrest and Rok Group subsidiary Durose & Gourlay) to carry out a five-year major repairs and improvement scheme.
The programme covers the association’s entire stock of 6,500 houses and flats on several estates in Preston and includes roofing work, doors and windows, bathrooms, heating, plus environmental tasks.
It is understood that 42 firms initially completed client questionnaires, after which 10 were asked to submit tender documents, with four finally being put through their full paces, including site visits and presentations.
