Brandon Hire name replaces Hire Center brand

Wolseley UK has announced that its existing Hire Center branches will come under the Brandon Hire name, following its acquisition of the tool hire firm.

Adrian Barden, managing director of Wolseley UK, explained his selection of the Brandon Hire name over the Hire Center brand. “The new tool hire business will build on Brandon Hire's excellent reputation with customers, and combine the strength of both businesses.”

The new operation will comprise around 270 stores, although it is thought that the firm will expand further. Wolseley communications manager Ian Oliver said: “We have aggressive plants for growth involving new locations, which will be announced within the next few months.”

Oliver added that the range of kit available through Hire Center and Brandon Hire would be broadened in each class to offer customers more choice.

The new business will be led by Brandon Hire chief executive Charles Skinner and based in Bristol.
