Speedy Hire tops the temporary power supply sector

Following its purchase of LCH Generators, Speedy Hire said it has become the UK's largest temporary power supplier and will divide Speedy Power into Speedy LCH Generators, Speedy Air and Speedy Pumps.

Speedy Power's managing director Andy Carter said Speedy LCH Generators will have a fleet of 4,500 gensets and turnover of more than £40m. David Bell, LCH's operations director, retains the position with Speedy LCH Power.

LCH's five locations and head office will be retained along with the staff. A further 12 Speedy branches will be dedicated to the generator business as well as four greenfield sites.

Speedy Air will have 12 depots, with two greenfield sites added next year, while Speedy Pumps will operate out of three depots, with two greenfield sites to be added at a later date.

Carter said this ensures the staff have an in-depth knowledge of the products, helping customers select the correct equipment. Customers will be "transferred seamlessly" between the various parts of the business to ensure the same level of expertise across the product range.
