Lafarge Cement has submitted plans for Harbour Village, a mixed-use redevelopment of its 153ha former works and quarry site at Magheramorne, near Larne in Northern Ireland.

The Strategic Forum has agreed a set of objectives to improve the industry's health and safety performance. They include an agreement on reporting near misses as a mechanism for sharing information and setting up a competency card for the Olympics.
