Castlemore Securities plans to go out to tender next year for a £275m city- centre regeneration scheme. Leeds City Council and Leeds Metropolitan University haves gone for Castlemore as its preferred developer for the 2.2 ha deal on a site within the city- centre ring- road.
Historically, Kier, Bovis Lend Lease, HBG, Balfour Beatty and Taylor Woodrow have been among the players that Castlemore has shortlisted to pitch for its major deals. The developer's plans include more than 55,800m2 of office space, around 6,400m2 given over to retail uses and 490 new homes. Basement parking for 850 vehicles is also included in Castlemore's project. Castlemore plans to send in a planning application for the deal by the end of this year.
Development will be phased, probably over six years.
