A team of White Young Green and Royal Haskoniong has been appointed by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) to work on design and environmental studies for the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.
The ODA wants to build a longer, dual-aspect slipway and race-boat parking, lifting and mooring facilities at the Academy. A planning application will be submitted in spring next year.
ODA chief executive David Higgins said: "Improvements at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy are a key project for the ODA outside of the delivery of the Olympic Park in east London and will help spread Olympic benefits around the UK."
Meanwhile the Academy has appointed Dean and Reddyhoff as preferred bidder to progress plans a new marina at Osprey Quay alongside the Academy.
