Pitch laying at Wembley completed

Laying of the new pitch at Wembley Stadium has been completed.

The turf was grown at a secret location in the north of England and delivered to the stadium last week. The laying procedure was carried out by Hewitt Sportsturf.

Wembley Stadium builder Multiplex said that the stadium's partly retractable roof will be left open between events to maintain the turf in top condition through exposure to direct sunlight and ventilation.
