Crossrail quantity surveyors appointed

Cross London Rail Links, the organiser of the £10bn Crossrail scheme, has brought in quantity surveying consultants E C Harris and a joint venture of Corderoy/Franklin & Andrews to help price the scheme.

The companies will be responsible for producing detailed cost estimates for the project based on the designs prepared by multi-disciplinary consultants.

Corderoy/Franklin & Andrews will be responsible for the cost estimate for the central and south east sections of the project, while E C Harris will price the surface railway works to the West and North East.

The companies will also join Crossrail's existing development team, which is led by Bechtel and includes Scott Wilson Railways, Mott Macdonald, Taylor Woodrow and Halcrow.

The parliamentary bill that will provide the authority to build Crossrail is still under discussion and must be considered by the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Once an agreement has been reached the bill will receive royal assent and become an Act.
