Michelin launches XMCL tyre

Michelin has unveiled its XMCL tyre for compact construction machinery, which is expected to last 46% longer and offer 10% more resistance to puncture than its predecessor.

The French manufacturer attributed the tyre's improved longevity to deeper lugs (i.e. the tyre's tread bar), steel casing belts and protective sidewall ribs. It also expects the tyres to offer 50% more load capacity than the older XM27 and XM37 ranges.

The XMCL is currently available in four sizes: 460/70R24, 440/80R28, 340/80R18 and 480/80R26. A further eight sizes will be added to the range in September. Michelin said that the tyres would cost the same as the current XM27s.
