Wimpey joint venture wins £120m Raploch regen

A Wimpey Homes/Cruden joint venture has been named preferred bidder for a £120m deal to revamp one of the most deprived areas of Scotland.

The pairing has managed to hold off challenges from competing JVs Laing O’Rourke/Bishop Walk Homes and Bett Homes/Ogilvie Construction/A&L King for the regeneration of the Raploch area of Stirling.

The scheme includes up to 1,000 new homes, community facilities, two replacement primary schools, new roads, a healthcare complex and riverside access, all to be phased in over seven years.

Meanwhile, Miller Construction has been named preferred bidder for the Orchard House health campus project, which forms part of the scheme.
