Arup director Simon Wright has been appointed director of infrastructure & utilities by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
At Arup he was director and group leader of Arup Project Management Europe. At the ODA he will be responsible for the delivery of environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering, including ground remediation, earthworks, pylon undergrounding, foundations and heavy structures, on budget and on time for the 2012 London Olympics.
ODA chief executive David Higgins said: "Simon has over 30 years' experience in managing complex, large-scale infrastructure projects and he will be an invaluable addition to the ODA senior management team. Getting the infrastructure and utilities right is crucial."
Wright joins the ODA in August.
