The InspirED consortium of Amec, John Laing's Equion subsidiary and Innisfree, has reached financial close on the South Lanarkshire schools PFI deal.
The contract involves the delivery of 17 new and two refurbished secondary schools for South Lanarkshire Council. The first school is due to completed by August 2007 with the final school completed in mid-2009.
The total capital value of the scheme is £319m.
The team was appointed preferred bidder on 2 February 2005, having beaten the South Lanarkshire Schools Partnership (Amey/Carillion/Osprey Mott MacDonald/RBS/Faithful & Gould).
