Builders merchant Jewson is investing £1.75m in one new branch - in Barking - and three of its existing depots, in a bid to meet anticipated demand from the Olympics.
The money is intended to help the company develop just-in-time scheduled deliveries, flexible work packs and bulk delivery to site.
"London is already a congested city, so contractors will need to ensure they partner with a merchant who can provide the best warehousing and logistics network to efficiently service the Olympic developments," said Jewson managing director Peter Hindle.
