Volumetric concrete mixer manufacturer Mek-Tek has introduced a compact version of its mobile batching plant (MBP) that it said will allow manual mixing operations to quadruple their outputs.
The new MBP4 has a capacity of between 4m3 and 5m3 depending on aggregate density.
Mek-Tek indicated that it was pitching the smaller machine, which has a four-wheel chassis, at start-up businesses and those looking to switch from manual mixing.
The company's own trials have shown that the machine can be reloaded and refuelled in less than 15 minutes, allowing the manually-mixed average daily production to be achieved in just a couple of hours.
The manufacturer also indicated that the machine would have lower operating and maintenance costs than conventional machines as it uses a power take-off rather than a donkey engine.
