GE Equipment Services is set to launch a new plant trailer that aims to address customers concerns that standard trailers are too easy to overload.
The company teamed up with its main trailer supplier Indespension to come up with a solution. The new model has higher-rated axles at 1,800kg (from 1,400kg), a positioning bar to ensure the centre of gravity is within safe limits and an adjustable A-frame for different coupling heights.
The trailer is already in the final stages of testing, and the firm plans to demonstrate it to utility contractors such as Balfour Beatty Power Networks soon.
