Plant deals done: 30 August 2006

Plant Hire 4U has ordered 10 Komatsu PC130-7 excavators from Marubeni Komatsu and made the Komatsu brand one of its core products. Excavators represent a significant market for Plant Hire 4U, 60% of whose customers are interested in them.

Electrical contractor T Clarke Midlands Limited has hired 20 compact machines from AFI Aerial Platforms to help it carry out refurbishments at two Waitrose stores in Scotland. The company hired eighteen 7.8m scissor lifts and two 10m booms, which are able to fit through the supermarket doors and move around the aisles.

Renways Aggregates and Bonnar Sand & Gravel have both bought Extec C-12 crushers for use in their respective quarries. Renways needed the machine after changing its core business from contract screening and crushing to operating a quarry. Bonnar Sand & Gravel will operate their machine at the Cachan quarry site in Argyll.

Groundforce Shorco has supplied May Gurney with the frames needed to build a new sluice gate within a cofferdam for a project in Sandwich. May Gurney is building the sluice gate as part of improvements to the A256 between Sandwich and Richborough, where the road crosses the River Stour.
