Willmott Dixon has developed an online exit interview questionnaire for those who leave the company.
Although the new system won't replace face-to-face discussions with line managers, it will provide a strategic way for the contractor to identify the reasons for company departures.
Leavers will automatically be sent an electronic form, which will give them an opportunity to expand on any reasons why they would be dissatisfied with the company. All responses, say the company, are confidential.
A Willmott Dixon spokesman said it was "too early" to share the trends accumulated from the questionnaires. However, he added that the company "prided itself on its staff retention rates". It won this year's large contractor section of the Contract Journal Best Places to Work in Construction Awards.
