BMF launches energy-saving push

By Brian Warner

In the run-up to Energy Saving Week, the Builders' Merchants Federation (BMF) has launched a campaign to encourage homeowners to buy materials from local BMF outlets to improve the energy efficiency of their houses.

The aim is a 20% cut in energy consumption.

Some of the basic measures the BMF recommends are loft insulation, a hot-water-tank jacket, draught excluders to exterior doors, fitting thermostatic valves to radiators and installing energy-saving light bulbs.

Energy Saving Week runs from 24-30 October.
