Transport Scotland advertises £200m M80 Stepps to Haggs PFI road project

Civils contractors are being invited to tender for Transport Scotland's £175 to £200m Stepps to Haggs PFI road contract.

The design, build, finance and operate scheme involves 18km of dual two and three lane motorway with associated slip roads, side roads, junctions, structures and culverts.

Other works will include earthworks, drainage, road pavement, services divisions, traffic signs and road markings, street lighting, traffic management and landscape planting.

The operation and maintenance contract will last 30 years.

The scheme will upgrade the central section of the M80, linking Edinburgh and Glasgow, to motorway standard.
