For the second time in this summer Case has had to make emergency provisions to support users of its machines as another of its UK dealers, Saville Tractors, has gone into administration. Saville had recently been bought by Thornycroft (1862) and expanded its territory following the collapse of fellow case dealer CRMS. However, administrators were called into Thornycroft following the death of its founding director Andy Ross.
As the directors of Saville decided to put the company into administration, Case moved quickly to provide support for users of its machinery by temporarily extending the territories of its adjoining dealers. Sales, service and parts supply will be handled by other dealers until such time as the situation is resolved. and an 0800 number has been set up to help customers with other queries.
Case is awaiting the administrators’ report before deciding on a course of action. Options include extending the remaining dealers’ territories on a permanent basis or appointing a new dealer. Case said it is in ongoing negotiations with other companies wanting to represent the brand.
George Russell, Case vice president for Europe said: "It is our intention to have a highly efficient dealer network covering the whole of the UK as quickly as possible." However, he is determined not to rush the decision and said the interim measures will "provide the appropriate level of service in line with customer expectations".
Saville Belfast has no connection with Saville Tractors.
