Shortlist imminent for HA's £4.5bn M25 work

The shortlist for the Highways Agency’s (HA) £4.5bn M25 DBFO is expected to be revealed next week. Sources have told CJ that the list is now in the final stages of being drawn up and scrutinised by the HA before getting the green light from the Department for Transport.

Two companies are expected to be dropped from the list, leaving three consortia in the running. It is at this point that the real investment in the bidding process starts to bite, with the remaining companies being given the tender documents to work up detailed submissions.

The firms currently prequalified and in the running for the scheme are: Amey, Laing O’Rourke & Ferrovial Agroman; CircuLON (Fluor & Transurban Ltd); Connect Plus (Balfour Beatty Capital Projects, Skanska Infrastructure Developments AB, Atkins and Egis Projects SA); Flow (Vinci Concessions SA, Autoroutes Du Sud De La France, Laing Roads Ltd, Carillion Construction, Costain Engineering and Construction); and Macquarie Motorway Group (Macquarie European Infrastructure).
