Waterman, the consultancy group, has reported a pre-tax profit of £4.2m. Managing director Bob Campbell said he was delighted with the performance.

Latest annual results (12 months to 30 June) show turnover higher at £83m (previous year’s figure: £73m). Last year, Waterman’s pre-tax profit ran to £3.8m.

Campbell said: “We anticipate further organic growth and we continue to evaluate a number of bolt-on acquisitions.”

Activities in the UK were mostly awarded on a multi-discipline basis and included urban regeneration projects in Leicester, Leeds and Liverpool. Waterman is operational on an increasing number of commercial and mixed-use projects in London.

Turnover in the group’s specialist M&E division rose and in the rail sector, the asset mapping database called Autorail continues to be rolled out. The aim is to cover the entire country-wide network. The new White City underground depot in west London has been completed.

Overseas, Waterman’s work in Ireland is handled by Moylan which enjoyed a record volume of work. There have been project wins in Russia, China and the United Arab Emirates.
