A digger driver working on the extension of the Masterfoods headquarters in Leicestershire was killed last week when a Bardon Aggregates lorry overturned on him.
Richard Kenny of Earl Shilton in Leicestershire, aged 48, was operating the mini-digger as part of the Bardon Aggregates contract for main contractor JH Hallam (Contracts) when the accident happened at Waltham on the Wolds. Kenny was declared dead at the scene, and a 42-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from shock.
An investigation is now underway. An inquest into Kenny’s death has been opened and adjourned.
Masterfoods issued a statement expressing their “deepest condolences to the family and friends” of the victim.
